Nasionalberita.com – Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, revealed the outcomes of a meeting with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment (Marves) office. The meeting discussed measures to address air pollution in the Jabodetabek region.
Budi Karya Sumadi mentioned that one of the agreements reached was related to remote work policies.
“In the meeting with Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, one thing agreed upon by all of us is that all ministries have agreed to implement remote work policies,” Budi stated to the media at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (20/8/2023).
Budi explained that the plan for remote work policy would be implemented through an official written circular. Currently, the regulation is still undergoing discussions with the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB).
“Currently, we are in discussions with PAN-RB to draft this written regulation. We are confident that this regulation will be effectively implemented,” he added.
Budi mentioned that the implementation of remote work for ministry and institution employees aligns with the government’s efforts to address air pollution issues in the Jabodetabek region.
He also revealed that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) plans to implement Weather Modification Technology (TMC) in the Jabodetabek area in the coming week.
“We will also be conducting weather conditioning in the near future,” he stated.
As known, on Friday (18/8), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan gathered several officials, including Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar, and Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto at the Marves office. This meeting was held as part of efforts to address air pollution issues in the Jabodetabek region.
