Nasionalberita.com - David Beckham has dismissing two individuals since Lionel Messi's arrival at Inter Miami. The two individuals who fell victim to Beckham's dismissals at Inter Miami due to their involvement with Lionel Messi are:
The first victim to face dismissal by Beckham following Lionel Messi’s arrival is a club janitor named Cristian Salamanca.
The club’s decision to dismiss Cristian Salamanca stems from an incident where he asked for Lionel Messi’s autograph before the match against Orlando City in the 32nd round of the 2023 Leagues Cup at DVR PNK Stadium in Miami on August 2.
Cristian Salamanca, who works as a janitor at Inter Miami, seemingly couldn’t contain his excitement to get the autograph of his football idol, Lionel Messi.
Despite Inter Miami’s management instructing all club staff not to disturb Messi and to conduct themselves professionally, Salamanca violated these guidelines. Before the Inter Miami match against Orlando, he approached Messi to request an autograph on his Argentine jersey.
However, after Messi provided the autograph, Salamanca was immediately apprehended by security personnel and subsequently dismissed by Inter Miami’s management.
The second victim dismissed by David Beckham is Nick Marsman, Inter Miami’s goalkeeper. Marsman was reportedly fired by David Beckham after criticizing the club’s plan to transfer Lionel Messi. This decision was made by Beckham, who serves as the owner of Inter Miami.
Before Messi’s official arrival at the club, Marsman had made critical comments in the media. He expressed that the Florida-based club wasn’t prepared to recruit world-class players like Messi.
“Personally, I believe this club isn’t ready for Messi,” Marsman said in an interview with ESPN last June.
“We only have a temporary stadium where anyone can walk onto the field, there’s no security fencing. We also go to the stadium without security. I think they aren’t ready,” he added.
Marsman’s controversial statement was seen as conflicting with the club’s ambition to bring in the world’s best players.
Consequently, Inter Miami terminated Marsman’s contract despite him having one season left.
“With this, Inter Miami FC announces the termination of Nick Marsman’s contract in Major League Soccer (MLS) in line with the club’s salary budget,” reads the official statement by the club.
